Closer in the Spotlight: Riverside Reverie and Ephemeral Grace Featured in the ‘Life Today’ Exhibition
January 11, 2025Two images from my project Closer—Riverside Reverie and Ephemeral Grace—have been selected for the Life Todayonline exhibition on Artdoc.photo. This exhibition brings together a thoughtful collection of photographs that reflect on what it means to live in the present moment. Through quiet observations, untold stories, and powerful simplicity, Life Today invites us to pause, notice, and reconnect with the world around us.
At a time when life often feels hurried and disconnected, the exhibition offers a gentle reminder of the beauty found in the ordinary and the extraordinary. It celebrates moments of stillness, human connection, and nature’s unwavering presence—urging us to look closer, breathe deeper, and embrace the timeless rhythms that shape our lives.
About Closer
Closer is a visual exploration of what it means to live slowly, intentionally, and in harmony with the natural world. This project was born from the desire to raise our children close to nature and to document the lessons, freedom, and wonder that emerge from this connection. Through images that evoke simplicity, raw beauty, and quiet presence, Closer reflects on themes of childhood, family, and the deep relationship between humans and the earth.
Ephemeral Balance - The hornet, dusted with sand, lands briefly on the skin, creating a moment of fragile balance between human and nature. This fleeting encounter, delicate yet significant, highlights the beauty found in the subtle equilibrium between our world and the natural one. In this brief stillness, nature’s quiet presence makes itself known, a reminder of the intricate connections that bind us.
Riverside Reverie-In the quiet embrace of the river, time slows down. A child stands still, feet submerged in the cool water, surrounded by the lush green wildness of the forest. Here, amidst the whispering leaves and gentle ripples, life reveals its most peaceful form. Riverside Reverie speaks to the importance of slowing down and simply being—to watch, listen, and feel the quiet beauty that nature offers when we take the time to immerse ourselves in it.
I’m honored to see Closer represented in this exhibition—a space where stories of the everyday, of connection, and of quiet wonder come together. To view the full Life Today exhibition and explore these selected works, visit Artdoc.photo.
